Sales & Business Development Manager (fp/sdbn) East Midlands, England

This is a field-based role combining new business development with account management.
You’ll take ownership of your region—growing existing customer relationships and develop new ones
From pitching and winning new sites to physically setting up freezers and merchandising displays, you’ll play a key role in bringing the Fieldfare brand to life in-store.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow and develop an existing portfolio of independent retail customers
- Identify, target, and win new business across farm shops, garden centres, and specialist retailers
- Manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation through to onboarding and installation
- Support customers with range reviews, product selection, and commercial growth plans
- Deliver engaging sales presentations backed by insight and data
- Install new sites, including assembling displays and merchandising freezers to a high standard
- Maintain strong relationships through regular visits and proactive account management
- Track performance and maintain accurate sales reporting
- Represent the business at trade shows and industry events
- Gather market insight to support product development and future growth
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone energetic, practical, and commercially minded who thrives in a field-based role.
Essential:
- Proven experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development
- Background in food, foodservice, or FMCG
- Strong track record of winning new business and managing customer relationships
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own territory and diary
- Comfortable with a hands-on role—willing to roll your sleeves up in-store
Desirable:
- Experience working with independent retailers, farm shops, or garden centres
- Knowledge of frozen food or premium food products
- Understanding of convenience or specialist retail channels
