This Infrastructure Engineer contract sits within a mature, fast-moving technology team supporting a complex environment. Working alongside senior infrastructure engineers, you’ll contribute across design, build and operational support, with a strong focus on core infrastructure platforms.
The role is predominantly infrastructure-focused, with occasional support to EUC team for additional support peak periods. It’s well suited to an engineer who enjoys balancing hands-on delivery with technical leadership and collaboration.
About the Role
- Design, build and support core infrastructure services across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Lead and contribute to Active Directory architecture, consolidation and rationalisation initiatives.
- Support virtualised and cloud infrastructure including VMware, Azure IaaS/PaaS and networking components.
- Partner with application, database and security teams on SQL Server platforms, DR design, upgrades and server modernisation.
- Deliver OS upgrades, patch automation and security hardening across Windows and Linux environments.
- Produce technical documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles while supporting BAU and project work.
About You
- Experienced Infrastructure Engineer comfortable operating at both design and implementation levels.
- Strong background across Active Directory services, identity, DNS, DHCP and certificate services.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux, VMware and Azure-based infrastructure.
- Confident working across networking fundamentals including VPNs, VLANs, routing and firewalls.
- Proactive, collaborative communicator who works effectively across infrastructure, application and EUC teams.
- Comfortable switching between technical leadership and hands-on delivery as needed.
