About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Temporary Housing Officer to join a busy housing service based in B43 6NN. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in housing management, tenancy sustainment, homelessness, or supported housing who can hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of tenants, providing person-centred housing management and tenancy support.
- Carry out tenancy sign-ups, reviews, sustainment visits, and property inspections.
- Support residents to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness.
- Complete needs, support, and risk assessments, ensuring support plans are regularly reviewed.
- Manage rent accounts, address arrears, and promote income maximisation.
- Respond to anti-social behaviour (ASB) incidents and tenancy breaches in line with policy.
- Liaise with local authorities, social services, health professionals, and external agencies to coordinate support.
- Safeguard vulnerable adults and children, escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate case notes and ensure all records are updated on internal systems.
- Support residents with referrals to relevant services, including benefits, employment, health, and wellbeing services.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Housing Officer, Tenancy Sustainment Officer, Supported Housing Officer, Housing Support Worker, Floating Support Worker, Homelessness Officer, or similar housing-related role.
- Experience managing a caseload within housing, homelessness, or supported accommodation services.
- Strong knowledge of tenancy management, safeguarding, risk assessment, and support planning.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) may be required.
