CRG Medical Services are recruiting a Registered General Nurse to work with our teams of highly skilled healthcare professionals in HMP Chelmsford. This role will be 40 hrs/week.
As a Registered General Nurse in our team, your responsibilities will be to provide high quality care and minor injury treatment to patients with both primary care and acute care needs in a prison setting. This role works as part of a diverse team delivering care to patients both within the Healthcare Centres and on the Wings / House blocks within the prison environment.
You must have the ability to work effectively as part of a multi professional team within a fast paced environment – you will be responsible for providing healthcare interventions to manage minor illness or injury, assessing alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal and assessing prisoner’s fitness for detention, release or transfer.

What you need for the role:
- Experience as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying service
- Full current membership of the either NMC or HCPC
- 3 years residency in the UK
- A Right to work in the UK
- Up to date enhanced DBS
- Excellent clinical examination skills
- Experience of venepuncture would be desirable
Preferably you will have experience in a relevant speciality such as A&E, Walk in Centre, Paramedic Practitioner, Substance Misuse, Community Nursing, Police Custody, previous Prison experience or other relevant disciplines that you feel have the transferrable skills
