Technical Manager – Maghreb Region (TM – Maghreb Region) Morocco

POSITION SUMMARY

Promote and provide technical support on Zoetis veterinary and diagnostic services to distributors, customers, and end users—as well as internal team members—across the Maghreb region (covering Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya). The role drives demand generation, ensures proper product use, and supports market development for Zoetis’ animal health portfolio across all species. The role works in close collaboration with Medical Leads and the Regional Commercial Manager in the assigned markets.

External: Distributors, key accounts/end users, local veterinarians & associations, authorities, NGOs/partners

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for Zoetis veterinary affairs activities across the Maghreb region, covering ruminants, poultry, and companion animals.
  • Organize and deliver product trainings to distributors and Zoetis key accounts, ensuring correct product use and supporting commercial opportunities.
  • Support key accounts and drive demand-generating activities for the Zoetis product portfolio through technical support and achievement of sales targets.
  • Provide input into portfolio management across the three species, including market/customer insights and support for product introductions to distributors and customers.
  • Participate in execution of species strategies in-market, coordinating cross-species priorities with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and implement training clinics and train-the-trainer activities to improve veterinary practices and support market development (including remote/underserved areas where relevant).
  • Gain and maintain in-depth technical knowledge of the Zoetis portfolio; actively share experience with other technical managers.
  • Build and support strong working relationships with local and intercountry Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across ruminants, poultry, and companion animals.
  • Support the development of sustainable diagnostic infrastructure; translate diagnostic results into practical disease control and biosecurity recommendations (within policy).
  • Support local veterinarians and authorities in vaccination/disease control programs; liaise with veterinary associations, farmer/pet-owner communities, and NGO initiatives to extend the impact of Zoetis activities.
  • Provide technical recommendations and assistance to key accounts, diagnostic customers, and other team members in-scope.
  • Support pharmacovigilance by investigating/documenting adverse events and ensuring timely reporting per SOPs.
  • Other duties as detailed in annual objectives or agreed with the Line Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine / BVSc (or equivalent veterinary degree).
  • Registered/licensed to practice in the applicable country/market
  • Continued professional development post-qualification.

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a veterinary/animal health technical role, with demonstrated ability to operate across ruminants, poultry, and companion animals.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a commercial organization, working to defined objectives/KPIs and partnering closely with Sales/Marketing.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver training to field teams, distributors, and customers/end users (including train-the-trainer approaches where appropriate).
  • Strong understanding of relevant production systems and customer environment in the assigned NWEA market(s).
  • Experience conducting farmer group trainings and/or extension services.
  • Experience with diagnostic testing and portfolios (advantageous/recommended).

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong veterinary/clinical and production-system knowledge across ruminants, poultry, and companion animals.
  • Ability to provide high-quality technical consultation: case assessment, differential diagnosis/problem solving, and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Fluent written and spoken French and English (additional local language(s) an advantage)
  • Competence in developing technical content and delivering effective product/disease trainings.
  • Analytical skills, including basic data interpretation (and basic statistics where needed).
  • Strong computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to maintain accurate technical records and reports.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacovigilance/adverse event reporting and product complaint processes (per company SOPs)
  • Familiarity with diagnostic testing workflows and interpretation; ability to translate diagnostic results into practical disease control and biosecurity recommendations (within policy).

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently within the assigned market(s).
  • Able to be based full-time in Morocco, with travel in the region up to 50% 
  • Able to travel international for business meetings (<5% of time)
  • Physically able to conduct on-site customer visits (e.g., standing/walking for extended periods, entering farms/production environments) and comply with required PPE/biosecurity measures.
  • Ability to travel to remote areas and work in variable field conditions (heat/dust/limited infrastructure) as required for training clinics and customer support.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel across Maghreb countries where required by the role scope.
