Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an International Administrator to join the Te Haumiri -International Student Experience team on a fixed-term, full-time basis until March 2025. The International Administrator is often a first point of contact for students and will contribute to providing a positive experience to all international students, including Manaaki New Zealand Scholars. The role will provide reliable and efficient administration support for the wider Te Haumiri - International Student Experience team and play a key role in planning and delivering events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver friendly and efficient frontline advice and services to international students, staff, and visitors.
- Provide administrative support for the Te Haumiri - International Student Experience Team.
- Actively participate in the planning and delivery of events for international students, including international orientation.
- Manage enquiries from international students and from staff.

You are:
- Enthusiastic with superb customer service skills, and a passion for supporting international students.
- Motivated, able to take initiative, provide excellent administration, have good IT skills, and make improvements to processes and procedures along the way.
- Thriving in this role with patience and sensitivity, strong attention to detail, and self-management skills.
- Open to new people and ideas.
Key Requirements:
- Reception, customer service or administrative experience.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a busy frontline environment.
- High proficiency in English language communication skills (oral, written, listening, cross-cultural).
- Good IT skills and experience working with MS office suite and databases.
- Ability to respond proactively to a variety of situations and to an ethnically diverse range of people in a culturally sensitive way.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
