Ashley Kate HR & Finance are partnering with a well-established, privately owned international group to appoint a Group Company Secretary. This is a rare opportunity to join a stable, growing organisation with multiple operating businesses across the UK and North America.

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of the company secretarial and governance function across six autonomous operating businesses. This is a broad, influential role requiring a balance of legal awareness, financial understanding, and strong interpersonal skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Organising and attending board meetings, preparing agendas, and producing accurate minutes
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including CEOs, COOs, and the Chair
  • Managing group-level governance, ensuring consistency across multiple entities
  • Overseeing insurance programmes and supporting banking relationships
  • Supporting intercompany transactions and maintaining a neutral, balanced group perspective
  • Providing oversight and coordination support to finance activities across the group
  • Taking responsibility for group IT oversight (non-technical, coordination level)
  • Building strong relationships across HR, finance, and operational leadership teams

There will be occasional travel within the UK and potential international travel (North America) from year two.

We are looking for a highly trusted, detail-oriented professional who can operate with confidence and integrity at senior level.

You will likely bring:

  • Experience in a Company Secretary, Governance, or similar senior role
  • A strong financial background (ideally qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in legal and financial matters
  • The confidence to challenge and influence
  • A calm, professional, and approachable style
  • Strong relationship-building skills across multiple stakeholders
  • A long-term mindset, with a desire to embed and grow within a business

This role would suit someone who takes pride in their work, values trust and accuracy, and is motivated to contribute to the continued success of a collaborative and entrepreneurial group.
