Accountant (JN -082025-63262) Beverley, England

Salary: GBP31000 - GBP45000 per annum

Are you an experienced accountant looking for more than just number crunching? Want to work with a firm that genuinely values its people, prioritises relationships, and supports your professional growth — all while respecting your personal time?

We’re working on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Beverley that is looking to expand its team with a passionate and proactive Accountant.

As part of this close-knit and forward-thinking team, you won’t just be preparing year-end accounts — you’ll be advising clients on succession planning, growth strategy, and business development. This is a multi-faceted role designed for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and relationship-building.

You’ll manage a varied client portfolio, ranging from sole traders to limited companies, and play a key role in their ongoing success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Prepare corporate and personal tax returns
  • Advise clients on tax, accounting, and business matters
  • Support clients with accounting software (IRIS, Sage, Xero, etc.)
  • Build strong, lasting client relationships beyond the year-end
  • Spot potential issues early and provide practical solutions
  • Work both independently and collaboratively across the team

What we're looking for:

  • ACCA / ACA qualified, or QBE, with at least 3 years’ experience in practice
  • Strong technical skills in accounts and tax
  • A natural communicator – confident picking up the phone, asking the right questions, and building trust
  • Good working knowledge of IRIS, Sage, Excel, and other relevant software (or the willingness to learn)
  • Someone who enjoys client-facing work and problem-solving
  • A team player who can show initiative and take ownership

What's on offer:

  • A genuinely supportive and people-first culture
  • Study support and ongoing professional development
  • A clear progression path, shaped around your goals
  • Individualised benefits package
  • Flexible working and a strong work-life balance – no unrealistic expectations
  • Regular training sessions and a yearly team conference with bespoke development and social events
  • A positive, no-egos environment where people are valued and heard
