Connaught Education is working in partnership with a specialist private education group to appoint an exceptional Residential Tutor for a high-achieving student based in Geneva.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced educator to take on a fully immersive, residential tutoring role, combining academic excellence with mentorship and holistic educational development within a private household setting.


The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a structured, high-quality home schooling programme within an international curriculum framework, with a particular focus on IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and progression towards the IB Diploma.

This is a highly involved position requiring both academic delivery and wider educational support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and delivering a structured, ambitious academic programme aligned with IB MYP and IB Diploma pathways
  • Providing high-level one-to-one tuition across core academic subjects
  • Stretching and challenging the student appropriately, including extension beyond standard curriculum content where suitable
  • Acting as both educator and mentor, supporting confidence, motivation, and independent thinking
  • Creating an engaging and well-balanced learning environment incorporating enrichment and extracurricular activities
  • Supporting a holistic educational experience including sport, creativity, and broader intellectual development
  • Providing clear, structured progress reports on a regular basis

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be:

  • An experienced and inspiring tutor or educator with a strong academic background
  • Confident delivering high-level academic content, including beyond standard secondary curriculum where appropriate
  • Personable, engaging, and able to build strong working relationships within a private household setting
  • A natural mentor with the ability to motivate and guide high-ability learners
  • Highly organised, with the ability to plan and deliver a structured yet flexible programme
  • Experienced in private tutoring or 1:1 education (essential)
  • Familiarity with IB MYP and/or IB Diploma curriculum (strong advantage)

Practical Details

  • Location: Geneva, Switzerland
  • Accommodation: Separate private guest accommodation provided
  • Schedule: 5 days per week with 2 days off
  • Structure: Approximately 8-hour working day, including teaching, planning, and enrichment activities
  • Salary: Highly competitive
