English Teacher – The Bahamas

Connaught Education is delighted to be supporting a leading international school in The Bahamas with the appointment of an English Teacher from August 2026.

The school delivers a British-style curriculum to a diverse, high-achieving student body, including IGCSE and A Level English Language and Literature. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced teacher to join a well-resourced English department and help students develop strong analytical, creative, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English across the secondary school, including IGCSE and A Level.

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that inspire students and promote a love of literature and language.

• Support the development of the English curriculum and contribute to the wider co-curricular and enrichment programme.

• Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and guidance.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards across the department.

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified and experienced secondary English teacher, with a strong track record of teaching IGCSE and/or A Level.

• Experience in a UK independent school or British international school is preferable.

• Excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for inspiring students.

• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.

• Adaptable and motivated, with an interest in contributing to the wider school community.

• Ability to drive is essential, as this is the primary way to travel around the island.
