Process Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Hours: 37h. 08:00 – 16:30 - Monday to Thursday, 08:00 – 13:00 – Friday

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role you will providing essential support the engineering team and the business, delivering projects that will enhance performance and therefore growth.

  • Your work will be increasing manufacturing productivity by an agreed % per annum and develop countermeasures that will be in line with the business’s strategic ambitions
  • You will work collaboratively with supplier representatives to ensure the newest technology and consumables are being used to drive process and quality efficiency
  • You will lead review meetings and present work status and provide feedback where required
  • You will be building a culture of continuous improvement, developing the skills of others around you
  • You will be responsible for NPI, the procurement of production equipment, ancillaries, managing first off production trials with the operations and quality teams
  • You will also provide support to production teams on daily issues
  • You will manage gross margin improvement plans and proactively challenge existing work practices to support the annual business plan
  • You will champion a strong EHS culture on site
  • You will assist in driving improvements to the site safety performance
  • You will show a commitment to the company ethics and compliance program,

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • A HNC or HND qualification or higher in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a production/manufacturing environment (high speed) in a Process Engineering role
  • Lean manufacturing experience (eg. KanBan and Kaizen)
  • Experience in project delivery and problem solving
  • ISO 9001 environment experience and operating within a
  • Experience utilising quality tools and Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques (eh. FMEA, SPC, Lean Sigma)
  • Yellow Belt qualification in Lean Manufacturing Techniques or above would be advantageous
  • Analytical and data driven
  • Confidence to influence business decision makers
  • Performance driven and self-motivated, Ability to motivate through coaching and experience, Tenacious, strong and forthright team player

 

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Hours: 37h. 08:00 – 16:30 - Monday to Thursday, 08:00 – 13:00 - Friday
