Engineering Stores Controller

Salary: up to £30,000

Do You have a background in Engineering stores? This is an excellent opportunity for you to build your career with a world renowned organisation! You will be playing an integral role in supporting the Engineering team by facilitating the repair and servicing of equipment. Your main duties will include sourcing and ordering spares, maintaining stock records and scheduling tasks.

Job Description:

  • Reporting to and working closely with, the Engineering Manager
  • Maintain stock inventory for all engineering spares.
  • Use the purchase ordering system to order replacement items for stock and to source reactive spares and materials as required, going off site to collect if necessary
  • Identify parts to replace obsolete/unavailable items, ensuring comparable specifications.
  • Liaise with the accounts department regarding invoice queries.
  • Update CMMS software, issue work orders and enter data from completed works.
  • Document new procedures and schedules and maintain existing.
  • Assist with the managing of budgets.
  • Manage Equipment manuals and electronic reference data.
  • Represent the department during external audits.
  • Liaise with external contractors and agencies to schedule works and services
  • Assist with maintaining safety data to include thorough examinations and regular inspections.
  • Produce KPIs where necessary to illustrate department performance.

Experience & Skills:

  • English and math GCSE’s – Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Engineering/stores background, ideally with experience in a factory environment.
  • Knowledge of common electrical and mechanical parts and materials beneficial.
  • ICT Skills – Microsoft Office proficient. Experience of purchasing and maintenance software (CMMS) desirable.
  • Ability to identify parts from drawings and samples with an understanding of specifications and measures.
  • Strong communication and Team Working Skills
  • Organizational skills to ensure effective prioritisation and management of workload and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst retaining accuracy.
  • Full Driving License.
