Project Engineer

Project Engineer (RTHPE) Rathdrum, Republic of Ireland

POSITION SUMMARY

This position reports directly to the Engineering Project Manager and will be responsible for the delivery of key site projects across various Engineering disciplines. The position will form part of the Technical Engineering Group within the overall Engineering Department. The Project Engineer will also interact with the Large Capital Projects Team and will support governance and oversight for all projects delivered at Rathdrum site.

The role will involve a high level of accountability with responsibility for projects delivery at the Zoetis API Manufacturing site in Co Wicklow. This role will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget and in accordance with all Zoetis Safety and Quality standards.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Key objectives of this position include:

  1. Work with Department & Functional Leads to deliver key projects supporting Maintenance, Facilities, Utilities & Process Plant.
  2. Develop Technical User Requirement Specifications and High-Level Scope documentation.
  3. Working with external Design Consultancies and inhouse Engineering SME’s to develop design solutions and translate into delivered projects.
  4. Develop scope, cost estimates and project schedules.
  5. Use of site change control system and procedures for new projects.
  6. Co-ordinate & manage external vendors & construction contractors working closely with the site EHS Specialist team.
  7. Commissioning & Qualification of newly installed systems working closely with the Site CQV Lead.
  8. Update of site Engineering records as part of project delivery.
  9. Present and report out on project status to site stakeholders.
  10. Development and use of Quality Assurance systems for Engineering & project delivery.
  11. Support key site initiatives such as Asset Integrity, Reliability, Plant Baselining, Machinery Safety, Continuous Improvement and Sustainability Projects.
  12. Support the execution of Large Capital Projects on behalf of Zoetis system owners including design reviews, walkdowns, documentation review and approvals, system handover and acceptance, updating of site Engineering records.
  13. Support the Continuous Improvement of Site Engineering Standards and Procedures.
  14. Support Root Cause Investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  15. Compliance to regulatory and Company quality procedures.
  16. Compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
  17. Ensuring all Zoetis Standards are maintained.
  18. Contribute to the overall performance of Zoetis and the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Directly reports to the Engineering Project Manager.

Build strong working relationship with Technical Engineering Lead, Engineering Functional Teams and Capital Projects Team. 

Establish strong association with Site Operations & Quality Departments and External Regulatory & Compliance Bodies.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Primary Degree in Mechanical / Process / Chemical / Electrical Engineering / Quality Engineering and a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience
  • Project Experience with Process Plant, Utilities, Electrical, Maintenance & Facilities systems and ideally within a highly regulated environment
  • Understanding of Project Life Cycle and adherence to stage gate process within
  • Development of User Requirement Specifications and High-Level Scope documentation
  • Project Cost and Schedule Control
  • Commissioning & Qualification of Process & Utility Systems
  • Understanding of GMP and the Quality standards required in the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing sector
  • Understanding and experience of working with construction regulations and Project Health & Safety requirements
