As the Lead Psychologist you will be responsible for the management and delivery of a quality psychological service at Ty Grosvenor, Wrexham. You will work in conjunction with the Head of Psychology Wales and South West Region.

You will be an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team and will be responsible for determining and meeting the psychological needs of the service users. It is essential you will be able to co-ordinate the supervision of assistant psychologists and junior colleagues.

As a Lead Psychologist, you will provide assessment and treatment services to service users, and be able to advice, where appropriate, on matters relating to the psychological to your team. Ty Grosvenor will provide a DBT programme supported by 4 fully trained DBT therapists, it is envisaged you will take the lead in this programme.

You will be working at Ty Grosvenor, situated in the City Centre of Wrexham and is an Open Rehabilitation service. It provides a robust care pathway for adults with complex mental health conditions. The Hospital comprises of, the Alwen Ward a 16 bedded male service, the Brenig Ward a 16 bedded female service, alongside 2 Step down apartments housing up to 4 service users

Your responsibilities
.
- To manage and develop the systematic provision of psychological services within the Hospital
- To act as a consultant to professional colleagues on the psychological aspect of assessment and treatment of patients in a secure setting.
- To participate in multi-disciplinary meetings concerned with the delivery of patient care as required.
- To maintain appropriate links with professional colleagues in the Elysium Healthcare and other bodies.
- To lead the work of the psychological services team in order to achieve organisational objectives.
- To develop and manage the psychological services team through professional records and appraisals as appropriate and in line with the BPS Code of Conduct.
- To ensure that training and development plans are implemented for the psychological services team and individuals with particular reference to CPD.
- To maintain effective working relationships and to respond effectively to poor performance in team members.
- To report all matters involving disciplinary and grievance procedures, seeking advice and support as required.
- To maintain Chartered status with the BPS and full applied divisional membership and other statutory regulation as required.
- Maintain professional appearance and behave in a reputable and professional manner. Accurately portray self, role and responsibilities.

To be successful in this role, you'll need
.
- 2 years post charter-ship
- To be educated to at least Master’s Degree level
- Full membership of an applied division of the BPS
- Chartered Psychologist status with the BPS
- DBT
- Good knowledge of Psychology theory/practice with mentally disordered offenders
- Can demonstrate a specialist and highly developed knowledge of models, methods, law and polices in psychology in the context of national developments, in relation to mentally disordered offenders.
- Minimum of two years post qualification practice. A proportion of this work needs to have been specialist work with offenders and/or the mentally disordered
- Experience in multi-disciplinary team in community, hospital or prison setting
