About the Role
We are seeking a Cloud Application Support & Migration Engineer to play a key role in supporting, remediating, and modernising business-critical applications as part of our cloud transformation journey. This role is best suited to candidates with strong application support and integration experience, exposure with to DevOps teams, and proven ability in cloud migrations.
This role is focused on applications, databases, ERP back-ends, APIs, and integrations, ensuring they are ready for migration and long-term stability in cloud environments. You will work closely with architects, cloud engineers, and vendors while owning remediation and advanced application support.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Execution & Remediation
- Perform remediation of legacy applications and environments to support cloud readiness and modernisation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application-level issues across on-premise and Azure.
- Assist in decommissioning data centre assets and migrating workloads to the cloud.
- Maintain and update technical documentation (as-built, configuration records, support guides).
- Support patching, upgrades, and performance tuning of enterprise applications.
Cloud Migration Support
- Collaborate with architects and infrastructure teams to execute application migration plans.
- Conduct pre-migration assessments, dependency mapping, and readiness checks.
- Assist in testing, validation, and cutover activities during migration phases.
- Monitor post-migration performance and escalate issues where required.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with third-party vendors on remediation, upgrades, and escalations.
- Track and report on vendor SLAs, issue resolution timelines, and service quality.
- Support procurement and onboarding of new tools/services for remediation and migration.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
- Provide Level 2/3 support for business-critical applications, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
- Identify recurring issues and contribute to root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application reliability and supportability.
- Develop support standards, knowledge base articles, and contribute to automation opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certifications
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- ITIL Foundation v4 certification preferred (or working towards).
- Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, or GCP) highly desirable.
Technical Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Cloud application support, remediation, or systems administration.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP regarded), including migration tools.
- Understanding of enterprise applications, ERP back-ends, middleware, and integration points (APIs, databases).
- Solid exposure to DevOps environments and collaboration with software development teams.
- Familiarity with scripting, automation, and monitoring platforms.
- Experience with ticketing systems, ITIL processes, and incident/change management.
