Are you an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer / CNC Machinist who enjoys taking a job from concept and design through to programming and machining the finished component?

This is an excellent opportunity for a genuine all-rounder with strong Mastercam and CNC machining skills who wants interesting, varied work and the opportunity to earn excellent money.

Our client is a long-established engineering company based in the Albury/Wodonga region. Due to continued demand, they are looking for an experienced person who can design, program, set and operate CNC machinery.

This is not repetitive production machining. You will work across one-off, small-batch and complex engineering jobs for a broad range of industries.

THE ROLE

• CAD/CAM design and development of components
• Mastercam programming
• Develop machining strategies from drawings, models and customer requirements
• Program CNC milling and machining centres
• Take jobs from design through to finished component
• Set and operate CNC machinery
• Prove out programs and optimise machining processes
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds and machining methods
• Work on one-off and small-batch components
• Precision and complex machining
• Problem solving and continuous improvement
• Opportunity for overtime and additional earnings

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for more than a CNC operator.

You will ideally be an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer, CNC Machinist, Fitter & Turner or Toolmaker who is comfortable being involved in the complete machining process.

You should have:

• Strong Mastercam programming skills
• CAD/CAM and component design capability
• CNC machining experience
• Ability to program, set and operate
• Ability to work from engineering drawings and 3D models
• Good understanding of tooling, speeds and feeds
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Experience with CNC milling and machining centres
• A high standard of workmanship

Multi-axis machining experience would be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you will be the type of person who can look at a component or drawing, work out how to manufacture it, program it and then machine it.
