This is a great opportunity to join a highly successful Australian owned engineering business that specialises in the design and manufacture of high precision components and equipment for specialised industries.
They have a modern, clean, and well organised facility and are known for their high standards of quality, innovation, and engineering excellence.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Production Engineer with CNC machining knowledge to join their team in a fulltime permanent position.
THE ROLE:
You will be responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing processes within the machine shop while providing hands-on engineering support to production and product development teams.
This is a key role that will see you working closely with machining operations, improving efficiency, solving technical issues, and ensuring high quality production outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide production engineering support to the machine shop
- Develop and optimise CNC machining processes and programs (Mastercam / CAM)
- Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and productivity
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling and process issues
- Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions and technical documentation
- Support new product introduction and design for manufacture (DFM)
- Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Work closely with production and R&D teams to resolve technical challenges
- Assist with equipment selection, setup and optimisation
- Ensure components are manufactured to specification and quality standards
TO APPLY YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:
- Engineering qualifications (Mechanical / Manufacturing preferred)
- CNC machining knowledge (programming, tooling, processes)
- Experience with Mastercam or similar CAM software
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience in a production engineering or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
