Well-established and successful Australian-owned engineering business based in Braeside requires an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist for a permanent full-time position.

This company specialises in the prototyping and production of high-precision components for the oil & gas, transport, mining and various other industries. They have a modern, clean workshop fitted with the latest machining technology.

This is a permanent full-time role worked over 4 days per week, offering excellent work–life balance on day shift.

The primary purpose of this position is to set, operate and program Sliding Head CNC lathes. You will be working on small batch runs (typically 50–100 components) and using Fanuc controls.

To apply for this position, you must have the following:

• Trade background as a CNC Machinist or similar
• Strong experience with Sliding Head / Swiss-type CNC lathes (Star, Citizen, Tornos etc.)
• Ability to program, set and operate Fanuc-based machines
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• High attention to detail and quality
• Good communication skills
• Reliable and able to work in a team environment

An excellent hourly rate is on offer plus a long-term, stable permanent position. Pay rate is based on skills and experience.
