Great opportunity to join a successful and well-established engineering business in the Western Suburbs that manufactures and services its own tanker and trailer products. This company has a strong and stable history in the heavy vehicle and tanker industry and offers long-term secure employment.

This is a new position and will involve a wide range of duties. You must be flexible with your skills and willing to move between tasks as required. The workshop operates as a team environment and most tradespeople are multi-skilled.

Reporting to the Service and Repairs Manager, your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Hydraulic hose making and pipe / tube forming
• Hydraulic fault finding and repairs
• PTO and pump installations
• Chassis repairs and modifications
• Brake and air system repairs
• Trailer servicing and mechanical repairs
• Suspension repairs and modifications
• Roadworthy and compliance-related repairs

This role involves the maintenance, repair and assembly of heavy trucks, tankers and trailers. Strong hydraulic experience is essential, along with good mechanical skills to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable and compliant with regulations.

TO APPLY YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

• Trade qualification as a Truck Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Fitter or similar
• Strong experience with hydraulic systems (essential)
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic and mechanical drawings
• High attention to detail and safety awareness
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Trailer or tanker welding experience an advantage
