Very successful and established engineering and tooling business requires an experienced CNC Machinist / CAM Programmer for their Adelaide operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC person looking for more variety than a traditional machine shop position.

In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC machinery, including a Doosan CNC lathe and Okuma CNC mill, using Fusion 360 CAM.

You will be involved in CNC turning and milling, precision machining, tooling selection and machining strategies. You will also use your machining and tooling knowledge to assist customers with technical enquiries and troubleshooting.

This is a hands-on position with the opportunity to become further involved in tooling applications and technical customer support, including occasional customer site visits.

Reporting to management, your key responsibilities will include programming, setting and operating CNC machinery, producing components from drawings and models, selecting cutting tools, developing machining strategies, troubleshooting machining and tooling issues and assisting customers with technical enquiries.

TO APPLY YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

• CNC Machining experience
• Strong CNC programming, setting and operating skills
• Fusion 360 CAM experience
• CNC turning and milling experience
• Good cutting tool and machining knowledge
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Current driver's licence

Trade qualifications as a CNC Machinist, Fitter & Turner, Toolmaker or similar engineering trade would be highly regarded.

This is a permanent full-time position offering up to $60 per hour + super, depending on experience.

The package may also include bonus/commission opportunities, company vehicle or vehicle allowance, fuel card, phone and laptop.

The company also has a modern air-conditioned workshop.
