Senior Electronics Engineer

Location: Cambridge, Huntingdon, St Neots, Royston, Letchworth Garden City, Bishop’s Stortford

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000

A well-funded agri-tech start-up are now looking to expand their team to help them push the boundaries of autonomous robotics, deep learning, computer vision and IoT. We are looking for a talented Senior Electronics Engineer to head up their electronics delivery, working as part of their exceptionally skilled and multi-disciplinary technology team.

The Senior Electronics Engineer will be responsible for

• Developing all electronic sub-systems used within their robots, including those for 3D imaging, sensor monitoring, safety management, and motor control,
• Compliance with the relevant CE and EMC regulations as defined by the quality engineer,
• Managing the electronics development process.
• Meeting CE requirements for EMC and operator safety
• Designing new electronic sub-systems
• Ownership of the system design
• Mentoring our talented junior electronics design engineer
• Running and developing our established release process
• Developing designs to scale manufacture
• Overseeing outsourced contracts as necessary (e.g. PCB layout, EMC test houses)

Experience needed for the Senior Electronics Engineer will include

• Design for EMC, manufacture, and test
• Mixed signal circuit design, commissioning, and test
• Power electrical and motor drive
• Using EDA software (Eagle is used)
• Progressing designs to volume manufacture
• A high-quality degree and several years of experience
