Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (Negotiable)

Location: Commutable from Huntingdon, Cambridge, Peterborough, St Neots, Kettering, Wellingborough, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Biggleswade, Newmarket.

 

We have exciting Technical Estimator opportunity for a dynamic individual looking for the opportunity to join a leading automation company who design and manufacture bespoke automated solutions consisting of pneumatic systems, servo/motor driven machinery, high speed automated machinery, end of line automation systems such as packaging machinery, bagging machinery, pick and pack stations, integrated conveyor solutions, vision inspection and detection systems. You will support the Business Development team in the preparation of quotes and tenders and play a key role in the companies continued growth.

 

The role of Technical Estimator will include, but not limited to:

  • Support sales teams by preparing technical & commercial costings proposals
  • Generating concepts and turning these into quotations, using a quotation system
  • Discuss project costing requirements with sales managers, project engineers and systems designers
  • Researching new technologies
  • Communicating with established suppliers and seeking new ones
  • Establishing in-house manufacturing costs through working with costing, production projects
  • Work on improvement and updates of quoting systems
  • Support projects managers & sales teams during the project process if changes occur
  • Keep the sales managers well briefed on the quoting process and financial viability
  • Driving the issue of price lists, working closely with the costing department, and interpreting the requirements of sales departments

 

The role of Technical Estimator will include, but not limited to:

  • Experienced in technical quoting and costings for projects
  • Ideally engineering background, strong technical knowledge
  • Preferable knowledge of materials handling equipment, automation, robotics etc.
  • Worked with clients in manufacturing / production
  • Able to influence, engage with and communicate effectively across multiple business levels
  • Able to manage estimating across multiple small to large capital projects
  • Have a good understanding of the main principals in projects – planning, scheduling, cost, change management, project information management
  • Able to read drawings and interpret technical concepts
