The Drake Group purchased another leading trailer manufacturer in 2015 OPhee Trailers. Together these two brands have been unstoppable in the market and continue to build an enviable presence within the Australian market. Currently, The Drake Group are seeking a highly motivated Sales Cadet/Salesperson to join their OPhee sales team. Specialising in trailers such as Swinglift, Boxloaders, Drop Decks, and Flat Tops this is an exciting opportunity if you enjoy selling a technical product.

This position would suit an individual who is highly organised and who has exceptional business acumen. If you have the ability to build sound business relationships and resilience to sell this is a great opportunity to further learn and develop from the industries best. This position will require an individual who has come from a technical background, or has the ability to pick up technical skills quickly. It is also advantageous for the successful candidate to have previous experience working with and or selling products such as Trucks, Trailers or Earth Moving Equipment. The Ideal person will be someone who is highly motivated to learn and develop to become a key member of this highly successful team.

Key Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Provide technical support and advice to clients looking to purchase the product
  • Research potential sales leads and identify entry points within new clients
  • Consistent marketing activity, creating new sales pipeline/client base
  • Prepare relevant sales documentation
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with other colleagues potentially in differentdepartmentsto achieve business outcomes
  • Develop and maintain market knowledge
  • Suggest ideas for product development/innovation based on market research and client requirements
  • Understand price structures to cost and sell products
  • Reporting requirements and maintaining data input into the CRM
  • Managing all existing accounts, by providing exceptional account management, building solid stakeholder relationships

To be successful in application you will:

  • Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • It is advantageous that you have experience selling a technical product
  • It is advantageous but not essential to have a background in Engineering, this can include a Trade Qualification
  • Have sound Microsoft Office skills (Excel and Word)
  • Have experience using a large ERP or CRM system such as Pronto
  • Consider yourself highly organised and self-motivated
  • A technical background or knowledge withmachinery or truck and trailers will be highly regarded
  • Be able to provide two recent work-related references
  • It is essential to have a current drivers license
