Ross on Wye  – Gloucestershire

£45,000 - £50,000

Monday – Friday, 33 days holiday, onsite parking

 

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to manage and deliver a range of capital investment and operational improvement projects within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects from concept and design through to implementation and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver CAPEX and operational projects from initial design through to completion.
  • Ensure all projects are completed in line with company standards, health & safety requirements and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors, ensuring compliance with site and company safety policies.
  • Identify and source cost-effective engineering solutions while maximising return on investment.
  • Lead project design reviews and approval processes.
  • Complete project snagging activities, site handovers and documentation updates.
  • Plan, coordinate and communicate effectively with stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • Support operational teams to minimise disruption during project implementation.
  • Promote continuous improvement and industry best practice across engineering activities.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers, OEMs and internal engineering teams.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to management.
  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role as required.

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or a completed Mechanical/Electrical apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 5 years' engineering experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven project management experience, including the delivery of CAPEX and operational improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience managing contractors and ensuring health & safety compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • CAD experience would be advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
