Controls Engineer – Plymouth, Devon

Monday – Friday (Double Days)

Salary - £48,000 - £54,000

Our client is a leading company that is dedicated to supporting customers that are supplied into a range of industries, their product quality is recognised as second to none. Due to growth and expansion into various export markets they are looking for a Controls Engineer to join their close-knit team.

What type of person are we looking for? First and foremost, we are looking for somebody who has experience in playing an active and integral role ensuring that all PLC And software systems are up to date


We are looking for someone with a Manufacturing background who will also have a good understanding of developing and coaching teams.

• Programming of all new PLC’s and devices that are introduced into the environment  
• Be involved in productivity-related projects – control charts, visual control software  
• participate in improvement project teams.  This will involve technical input to projects on electronic & software systems and methods.
• Responsible for maintenance and support of all Mitsubishi PLC control units on site
• Support continuous improvement

  • install and commission capital equipment in line with the business requirements – including PLC automation
  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments
    • Liaise with suppliers, internal and external customers on quality related issues
    • NEBOSH Trained

 

Experience and Skills

  • Lean problem solving using appropriate tools and techniques (Six Sigma, Lean, SPC)
  • Supporting all 5S & CI activities
  • Developing new systems in line with production requirements
  • Electrical Engineering Degree

 


Benefits:

Salary - £48,000 - £54,000

Pension: employee = 3.6% and Employer 4.5% = 8.1% / Advanced: employee = 6% and Employer 7.5% = 13.5%
