Salary: GBP50000 - GBP60000 per annum + + car allowance

The Company

Our client are a leading Utilities and Infrastructure business who are going through an exciting period of investment, growth and change. Due to the growth of their business, they are looking to recruit Project Managers at various levels across their public and private networks business to help deliver work across the UKPN and SPN region. Work will involve substation construction works, HV new connections, underground and overhead cabling and diversion projects, predominantly covering 11-33KV works.

The Role

Job Purpose

As a project manager your job is to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the specific jobs you are working on.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of the client and its customers
  • Manage multiple projects safely, competently, and effectively to time and budget.
  • Manage all financial aspects of projects.
  • Produce PO’s and order plant and all other items relating to the projects you manage.
  • Ensure all extra works/variations are costed and invoiced.
  • Provide cost value reconciliation for projects/contracts.
  • Ensure all sub-contracts are approved in line with the company policies.
  • Ensure project meets all current legislation HASAWA, NRSWA C.O.S.H.H. etc.
  • Assist in costing schemes for quotation as required.
  • Identify and inform Directors / Senior Managers of commercial opportunities as appropriate.
  • Review and monitor programme schedule using Project Management tools.
  • Work in accordance with project programs to ensure dates and milestones are achieved to ensure projects are completed on time, first time
  • Actively monitor teams within your line management responsibility.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments are carried out at all stages of a project (design, planning, generic and Daily on Site).

The Person

Qualifications

· Technical status and a qualified electrical engineer would be desirable, but not essential. 

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experienced as a Project Management with a proven track record within the ICP/DNO sector.
  • ICP experience at 11kV is essential & 33kV is desirable, but not essential
