Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Low Voltage Authorised Person. As a Low Voltage Authorised Person, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient work activities and operation of UKPN’s distribution network.

Responsibilities:
• Perform switching and isolation operations on low-voltage electrical networks following company procedures and safety regulations.
• Carry out routine inspections on low-voltage equipment, including transformers, switchgear, link boxes and other associated electrical assets.
• Coordinate and supervise work activities performed by contractors and other personnel, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
• Assist the Project manager with planning work activities, customer liaison, creating work packs and issuing to site teams and attending site meetings where necessary.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate hazards associated with low-voltage operations.
• Respond to electrical network emergencies and outages, assisting with fault location and implementing timely remedial actions to restore supply when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of work activities, including asset registration, inspections, test sheets, and incident reports.
• Collaborate with other teams and departments to optimise network performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the development of operational strategies.
• Stay updated with industry regulations, standards, and best practices relating to low-voltage electrical systems.

Requirements:
• Hold, or held within the past 12 months a Low Voltage Authorised Person certificate authorised by UK Power Networks.
• Extensive experience working with low-voltage electrical networks, including link boxes, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment.
• Strong knowledge of distribution safety rules, safety regulations and best practices related to electrical distribution systems.
• Excellent understanding of electrical principles, cable, and basic fault identification, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and electrical documentation.
• Proficient in using relevant tools and equipment for switching and linking, inspection and testing purposes.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time efficiently, and work independently with minimal supervision.
