With a broad range of expertise in sectors including defence, energy, highways, rail, utilities, and more, they have built a reputation for delivering exceptional results for their clients.

Our client are currently seeking an ambitious Graduate Finance Assistant to join their busy finance team based in our client's head office in Chorley. The successful candidate will receive full training and support to develop their skills and progress within the finance team, starting as a Finance Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk and progressing into management accounts and beyond.

Equally would you like to progress with your studies? The company are more than willing to pay for further qualifications such as AAT and CIMA.

Initially you will have the below responsibilities.

  • Process invoices and reconciling to purchase orders
  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase summaries
  • Process business expense claims
  • Processing BACS payments
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external partners, resolving queries smoothly and efficiently
  • Ensure the integrity of purchase orders and receipts
  • Scan, index and file all required documentation
  • Supporting the finance team with various tasks
  • Support general office duties and provide ad-hoc reporting

Requirements:

  • A recent graduate
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
