Operational Safety Advisor

Operational Safety Advisor (ABSEG113) Chorley, England

Salary: GBP35000 - GBP45000 per annum + Additional benefits

ABS Commercial Solutions are a professional services business that works across Utilities, Highways, Rail, and Infrastructure projects across the UK. We have 4 key areas within the business Commercial, Telecoms, Street works, and Recruitment. 

We currently employ just over 100 employees and due to our ongoing growth and success we are looking to appoint an Operational Safety Advisor / SHEQ Advisor on a full time, permanent basis in a newly created role to work closely with our Telecoms division but also to support the wider business and underpin our SMT.

Typical responsibilities include.

  • Improve and develop SHEQ processes and systems
  • Support and assist with the investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Prepare and undertake HSQE audit, Inspections, and calibrations for Company related activities as required
  • Complete and distribute relevant audits, Inspections, and calibrations reports
  • Develop and maintain a program of Inspection of Safety-critical equipment and PPE
  • Identify findings and make recommendations/implementations to our SLT to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Site audits and inspections (nationwide, travel is required)
  • Identified plant and equipment calibrated, tested, or inspected
  • Undertake briefings in line with agreed timescales

The ideal candidate will have a positive and proactive attitude, they will be able to communicate throughout our business and have a people-focused approach to their work. Experience within the utilities sector along with NEBOSH construction certificate is essential. You will ideally have some telecoms knowledge however applicants in similar industries are welcome to apply. Confidence in using IT and MS packages is essential.
