Looking for a new challenge? Due to continued growth and success, ABS Commercial is currently seeking to appoint a number of Trainee Telecom PON Surveyors to join our thriving telecoms division. If you have a good work ethic, and interest in telecoms surveying, we would like to speak with you. Any previous experience within with Telecoms industry is an advantage.

Role Profile: Working within your Telecoms Division you will be required to assist in the delivery of major Telecoms projects for our clients across the Openreach Network. Surveying infrastructures to assess and record their suitability and document outcomes.


Formal training will give alongside on-the-job training, this will ensure you’re highly skilled and always providing the best service as technology continues to develop. Training provided will cover but is not limited.

  • Understanding routing of telecom wiring from point to point
    • Understanding of logistics involved in all civils work inherent in network installation
    • Understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements, including, wayleaves, permits, and associated agreements
    • Understanding of Traffic management

Qualifications and accreditations you can expect to gain are;

  • SA001 Safety Overhead
    • SA002 Safety Underground
    • S5 PIA Pole Surveying
    • S6 PIA Duct Surveying
    • S11 FTTP for Surveyors
    • Unit 2 Street Works
    • FTTP/FTTH/CAT A planning processes.

A full UK driving licence along with the flexibility and willingness to work away from home is required from time to time for this trainee opportunity.
