As a Resource, Planning, and Scheduling Manager for a growing and thriving business that operates within civil engineering, civils, and construction, you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of staff schedules that will maximise utilisation and efficiency and will have a full understanding of civils and electrical work.
You will provide advanced planning direction and analysis as well as real-time guidance to ensure the effective programming of all contracts. You will ideally have a civil or electrical background as you will be required to have the ability/appreciation to be able to question both utilisation of the site teams but also challenge teams on work plans.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain appropriate forecasting and scheduling tools
- Ensure schedules are built to best match intraday profiles Manage schedules, keep track of holidays, sick leave, training, and other activities to ensure adequate shift coverage
- Assist with short, medium, and long-term forecasting process
- Work closely with other planners and operational management to ensure KPIs are tracked and understood in conjunction with the operations management you will develop robust plans to overcome known operational challenges to maximise delivery of relevant SLAs
- Liaise with operational teams to provide steerage to the management process, ensuring adherence to schedules and re-prioritisation of tasks/resources as required
- Provide consistent communication to senior management teams on projected performance and appropriate actions to maintain
- Assist the operations manager in the implementation of effective and timely operational reports
- Work to support operational manager on producing MI and reports as required
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven planning and scheduling skills ideally within Civils, Utilities or Cable Jointing
- Analytically minded with a track record of collating and producing statistical information from a variety of sources
- Expertise in using industry-leading workforce planning systems
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills
- An ability to work using own initiative within boundaries
- Ability to in work in a fast-paced environment
- An ability to work effectively with people across a wide range of levels and responsibilities Attention to detail
