About the Role

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager who enjoys being hands-on while also having the scope to lead, influence and improve.

You’ll lead a small, experienced payroll team and oversee the day-to-day delivery of the payroll function, while continuing to strengthen processes, controls and ways of working.

With strong support from leadership, you’ll have the autonomy to make an impact while remaining close to the detail. It’s an ideal role for someone who enjoys balancing operational payroll, people leadership and continuous improvement.

 Duties

• Lead and support a small, experienced payroll team
• Oversee accurate and timely end-to-end payroll delivery
• Provide technical guidance and support across complex payroll matters
• Ensure strong payroll governance, controls and compliance
• Partner with key stakeholders across the wider business
• Identify and implement process and system improvements
• Continue to build capability and knowledge across the team

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience leading a payroll function within a complex environment
• Strong technical payroll knowledge and understanding of compliance and legislation
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to support and empower an experienced team
• Strong process improvement and problem-solving capability
• Confident working with stakeholders across different levels of a business
• Experience with Chris21 is highly desirable
• Strong systems capability and an interest in improving payroll processes
