About the Role:
As Payroll Operations Manager, you will be accountable for leading end-to-end payroll services across the ANZ region, with a particular emphasis on New Zealand compliance and best practice. This role combines hands-on oversight with tactical leadership. You will lead a dedicated team, partner with key business units, and continuously improve processes to ensure exceptional payroll outcomes.

Duties:
• Lead end-to-end payroll operations for both New Zealand and Australia.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team.
• Act as the subject matter expert for New Zealand payroll compliance and practices.
• Drive payroll system efficiencies and lead process optimisation initiatives.
• Ensure all statutory reporting, taxation, and auditing requirements are met.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across HR, Finance, and IT to support business goals.

Skills and Experience:
• Demonstrated expertise in New Zealand payroll processing and legislation (SME level).
• Proven leadership experience within a payroll function of a large, complex organisation.
• Comprehensive understanding of both AU and NZ payroll environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and influence across departments.
• High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive mindset.
• Track record of delivering payroll compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
