We’re partnering with a Melbourne-based facilities services business located in the South-East suburbs. With a close-knit & fast paced team environment, they are seeking a Standalone Payroll Manager to sit across both Finance and People & Culture, supporting the business end-to-end. For the right fit, there is also potential for this role to be offered on a part-time basis.

About the Role:
This is a standalone role managing the end-to-end payroll function for a Melbourne-based complex workforce. Sitting across Finance and People & Culture, you will act as the link between these functions, ensuring payroll runs smoothly, accurately, and compliantly. The role suits someone who enjoys variety, stakeholder engagement, and the autonomy to take ownership of payroll processes while contributing more broadly to the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Act as the connection point across Finance and People & Culture on all payroll-related matters
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, supporting business planning and reporting
  • Ensure payroll compliance with awards, legislation, and taxation requirements
  • Provide timely and professional payroll support to employees and stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies

Skills and Experience:

  • Solid end-to-end payroll management experience, ideally in a standalone capacity
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance
  • Strong ability in dealing with a diverse workforce
  • Confident working across both Finance and People & Culture functions
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
