About the Role
The Senior Payroll Manager role is responsible for the end-to-end leadership of payroll across Australia and New Zealand. You’ll define and lead payroll strategy, ensure strong governance and compliance, and oversee day-to-day performance of the function. A key part of the role is driving transformation, improving systems, controls and operating models, including implementation projects. This role needs someone who can think strategically but isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves when needed.
Duties
• Lead ANZ payroll operations end-to-end
• Own payroll strategy aligned to global standards
• Strengthen governance, controls and compliance frameworks
• Ensure compliance with AU & NZ legislation
• Lead payroll transformation and system initiatives
• Partner closely with P&C, Finance and global stakeholders
• Act as escalation point for complex payroll matters
Skills and Experience
• Senior payroll leadership experience across ANZ
• Strong technical knowledge of AU & NZ payroll legislation
• Experience leading payroll transformation or system projects
• Solid governance and risk background
• Confident stakeholder manager
• Practical, hands-on and commercially minded
