Control Room Operator

Control Room Operator (90239) Kelburn, Wellington Central, New Zealand

  • Control Room Operator, permanent full-time role.
  • Do you have a clean Class 1 Full driver's license (Manual)?
  • Can you effectively communicate with a wide range of people and make sound decisions under pressure?

The Campus Safety & Security Team are looking for a Control Room Operator to monitor a range of security systems and provide a critical communications hub for security and other incidents. The successful candidate will work alongside the team of other Control Room Operators and Security Assistants providing a 24/7 control room capability.

You will be a confident communicator and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to;

  • record information accurately;
  • be an excellent listener;
  • have the ability to rapidly analyse and interpret information.

You will have the aptitude to control an incident and task resources to achieve a safe and appropriate response. 

You will be able to work well under pressure and have sound decision-making capability. You will be able to remain calm when dealing with distressed callers and provide appropriate advice and reassurance. You will need to be a confident user of Microsoft Office Suite. Full training will be provided on the use of our security systems and processes.
