Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Grants & Scholarship Coordinator to join the Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Faculties of Science, Health, Engineering, Architecture and Design Innovation Division (the “Division”). Key responsibilities of this new role would be:

  • to oversee the administration of research grants and scholarships for all Faculties within the Division;
  • to administer, facilitate and monitor Divisional grants;
  • to ensure internal grants are set up optimally and distributed in alignment to strategy and compliant with Divisional policy and procedures;
  • to monitor the research budget spending.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

We are looking for a conscientious and analytical person who is methodical and pays attention to details to take on this new role. Keeping calm whilst under deadlines is an important attribute to have.

You will have demonstrated understanding of budgeting and account processes and have the experience of developing, implementing, and maintaining good procedures and processes. Relationship building, strong customer focus and communication skills will factor highly in our selection criteria. Being technically savvy is an important part in succeeding in this role.

Other key requirements are as follows:

  • Ability to collect, collate, and analyse information relevant to your role.
  • Technically savvy individual with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Office 365 and the ability to pick up new technology quickly.
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to remain calm whilst under deadline pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills and self-management skills.
  • Experience working with databases.
