In response to the COVID 19 pandemic the New Zealand Government has closed the New Zealand border to almost all travelers wanting to enter New Zealand by either air or sea. Currently, only New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, and certain other critical workers will meet the strict exception policy. Those who are permitted to enter the country must enter government-approved isolation/quarantine for two weeks after their arrival.

It is uncertain how long the border restrictions will remain in force but at present, the restrictions may impact the degree to which an offshore candidate can engage in an on-site interview (if required), or be able to commence work in a new position at the University. For more information and updates on the border restrictions and to understand how they might affect any application and ability to obtain an immigration visa for those who would require one, visit the Immigration New Zealand website or the New Zealand Government’s official Covid-19 website.”
