Lecturer (NZ$83,776-$99,221)
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent full-time Lecturer in Information Systems to join the School of Information Management. We are preferably seeking a candidate with a current legal right to work in New Zealand and who can ideally start in mid-late June 2023.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Developing an independent research agenda and the supervision of research students.
- Contributing to hautūtanga/leadership, the taking on of appropriate administration service roles and engaging in the wider community.
- Assisting with the administration and development of programme curriculum in contribution to the effective and management of the School.
- Being part of an active, collegial team committed to equity and diversity, and aspiring to research and teaching that engages mātauranga Māori, and upholds our responsibilities to te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
You will be an enthusiastic teacher and researcher, with experience and publications commensurate with the level of Lecturer. You will be passionate about learning, teaching, and interacting with a diverse range of students and appreciate the importance of Ako (reciprocal learning and teaching), in a tertiary environment. The ability and experience to teach a range of different courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels is also highly desirable. You will have a willingness to engage, good communication and interpersonal skills, and an enthusiasm for contribution to the vision and ongoing development of the School, its activities, and programmes.
Key Requirements:
- A completed PhD in Information Systems or a related area. However, we also welcome applications from candidates who are close to completion of their doctoral studies.
- Some experience in teaching at a tertiary level.
- A developing record of scholarly research, publications, and a research agenda.
- Capacity to work as part of a collegial team.
