Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

The Research Office of Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Contracts Advisor. The RO supports and assists researchers with funding opportunities, grant applications, and research contracts.

Based at the University’s Kelburn campus, the successful applicant will work closely with the team to prepare budgets, contracts and subcontracts, and help manage grants post-award including contract variations, contract monitoring, budget preparation, and reporting.

You’ll be the front-line contact for calls and enquiries, communicating with internal staff as well as external stakeholders. There will also be the opportunity to assist other teams and projects, enhancing your career development and industry knowledge.

You will be a switched-on, fast learner, with an eye for detail.

Your excellent communication, problem-solving and database skills coupled with a genuine customer-focused approach, will be essential to success in this role. Your demonstrated experience as both a team player and a self-starter would be a definite advantage.

You will likely have an interest in research and for the right person, this is a role that could grow in its potential to add value.
