Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role  

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting 2 Fixed Term Admission and Enrolment Assistants to join the  Student Operations team within Tītoko (Mid-November - 2022 – end of February 2023). The Admission and Enrolment team provide high quality, accurate and timely advice and information to students and staff about the University’s admission and enrolment policies, procedures and regulations.  

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provides administrative support to the Admission and Enrolment Advisers to ensure a timely completion of admission and enrolment for students.  
  • Enters student information and data into the Student Information Management System and other software applications associated with enrolment and admission processes.  
  • Securely and effectively manages data collection and storage through the maintenance of databases and filing systems.  
  • Responds to queries from students and staff by telephone, email and in person about their admission/enrolment.  
  • Provide efficient service to produce and issue student ID cards with appropriate associated access rights.

You will proactively be able to create good working relationships with key staff and know the importance of seeking feedback to continually improve the service you deliver.  

Key Requirements:    

  • Ability to communicate in an effective and friendly manner with a multicultural client base.  
  • Previous experience of a strong client-centric approach to delivering excellent customer service or client services.  
  • Proven understanding of the need for data integrity.  
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook.  
  • Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written.
