Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Donor Relations Adviser to develop and lead our stewardship activity to support our fundraising programmes.

Through thoughtful and bespoke communications and events, the Donor Relations Adviser will make sure donors feel included, appreciated and understand the impact of their support. By developing successful stewardship pathways, the Donor Relations Adviser will be part of ensuring donors continue to support our organisations through repeat or additional contributions. 

The Donor Relations Adviser will work closely with Development Managers, our data and communications team members as well as the University’s wider Events and Engagement team as needed.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in fundraising, communications, events, stakeholder relations or a customer/client facing role to use their expertise to help deepen our relationships with our donor community.

Key Requirements: 

  • Experience in developing successful relationships with either donors, commercial clients, or organisational stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role.
  • Experience in event organisation or coordination.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Capability to work as part of a team as well as having individual responsibilities.
