Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Are you passionate about students developing employability skills and achieving their career aspirations?  We are currently recruiting a Kaiwhakahaere - Manager for Te Ratonga Rapu Mahi, the Careers and Employment team at Te Herenga Waka, Victoria University of Wellington.

The Kaiwhakahaere - Manager leads a team that assists present, past and prospective students to develop the strategies, skills and knowledge that will enable them to make informed decisions about their careers; and strengthens links between the University and organisations within and outside of New Zealand.

You will play a key leadership role in enhancing the employability outcomes of our students. Our Careers and Employment team partners with academics, students and employers to provide a suite of high-quality career development resources and opportunities, and to support work integrated learning.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will have considerable experience in and knowledge of the careers and employment field and a sound understanding of the tertiary sector, with proven ability to lead the development, delivery and evaluation of high-quality, inclusive tertiary services and programmes for students from diverse backgrounds.  You will have proven experience of and commitment to the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a sound understanding of its application in a tertiary context.

You will have well-honed interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will be well versed in general management skills and practices including financial management, planning, evaluation and reporting.
