Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an inclusive, dynamic environment with a strong sense of community. You will have a significant impact on first year students in our hall community and a chance to make a valuable contribution to the student experience at the University.

Residential Advisors play a key role in Hall life, they help to set the tone as positive role models in the lives of residents. You will provide peer support and a sense of community and connection to Hall students, helping them to transition successfully into university life.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

 

To succeed in this RA role, you will have been a recent RA within the last two years, with ideally a minimum of two years tertiary study under your belt, and know what it takes to build a sense of community and belonging. You will have experience working in a VUW hall working across cultures, including Māori and Pasifika, be committed to supporting gender diversity, and be willing to live onsite in order to participate fully in Hall life.

This is a great opportunity to bond with your fellow Residential Advisors, and to be part of a wider whānau. Your maturity, ability to relate well to a wide range of people and positive attitude will have you widely respected. Successful applicants will be supported by senior, experienced staff and with a comprehensive hall induction and ongoing opportunities that will develop valuable career skills and experience working with a diverse group of people.
