Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Student Success Advisor to support Provisional Admission students on an 11 month fixed term contract.

The role will provide high quality holistic and administrative support for students.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Be the holistic support point of contact to a dedicated group of students
  • Engage students throughout the trimester, particularly at key momentum points
  • Work with students to overcome barriers and to support their successful progress 
  • Monitor student progress and know when to target specific, just-in-time support to students in tactical ways
  • Utilize the resources of the University and refer students to the appropriate additional support services
  • Process student administration forms and maintains records in central systems

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual, have strong relational skills, able to take initiative and a strong commitment to student success. 

You will thrive in this role with an excellent manner with people, effective skills in empowering people to achieve their goals, strong attention to detail and good self-management skills. This role is busy, challenging, extremely rewarding and interesting for the individual with the right temperament. 

You will relish taking responsibility as well as working collaboratively within a high performing team. You will be comfortable with complexity and working with complicated processes, and have effective time management and forward planning skills to balance meeting deadlines and maintain a high standard of service. You will have the ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
