We are seeking expressions of interest for a Technician to join the Ferrier Research Institute at Victoria University of Wellington, at the Kelburn Campus. This is an important role and an opportunity to be part of the recently established Synthetic and Chemical Biology team lead by Professor Emily Parker.

This would be an opportunity for permanent part-time work (25 hours per week) and will work closely with the Technical Officer to support the efficient operations of this new facility.

You would work with a world-leading research team and provide them with technical support to enable the efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory.  You will also contribute to assisting the team as required to meet specific research outcomes.

Prospective candidates will have a degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or other relevant disciplines.  Experience working in a research environment and in providing technical support to a research team and an understanding of the requirements of biological compliance is desirable.

The preferred candidate will have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and show a strong desire to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
