The School of Health is wishing to appoint a Senior Research Fellow (part-time) for 20 months to assist in managing, implementing and reporting the on-going evaluation of Healthy Families NZfunded by the Ministry of Health. This new position requires someone with a broad set of skills in research and evaluationwho is effective at communicating, writing and fostering reciprocal and diverse relationships, as well as being committed to the University’s Treaty of Waitangi and equity obligations.  

The preferred candidate will have a PhD in Public Health or Health Promotion, or other related area and have significant experience using different research and evaluation methods.  It would also be helpful to have an interest in, and knowledge of, systems thinking in health. 

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative team evaluating an innovative and substantial health promotion initiative.  Healthy Families NZ is aimed at improving community health and wellbeing through strengthening the community prevention system in Aotearoa and is being carried out in nine locations around the country from the Far North to Invercargill.   

You will also be joining a growing, multidisciplinary School with a team that values collaboration, innovative thinking, excellence in teaching and research, and critical and transformational engagement.
