Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Deputy Head of Hall to join the Student and Campus Living Directorate at the University.

As Deputy Head of Hall, you will support the Head of Hall in an acting capacity when required, lead and supervise a team of Residential Advisors and undertake a range of operational/administrative tasks. You will help build a healthy Hall experience for our students, which supports successful academic progress and general life skills.

 You will be primarily based at one of our Halls of Residence which operates 24 hours per day, seven days a week, and you will typically be on call every second week. As this role interacts with students and runs events, you may be required to work outside normal office hours.

  

Ō pūmanawa - About you 

You will have an understanding of the duty of pastoral care, and experience supporting student academic success and personal growth. Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification. Problem solving, budgeting and administration, event planning and conflict resolution will be a particular skill set. Experience applying restorative justice principles would be beneficial. Experience as a first-responder for critical incidents and of risk management in a welfare context would also be an advantage.

This role requires you to be COVID-19 vaccinated.
