Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role 

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Senior Tutor to join the School of Information Management on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role of Senior Tutor is to provide teaching, technical, tutorial, engagement, student and administrative support for the Master of Professional Business Analysis (MBusAn).  

Key Responsibilities include:   

  • In-class support to manage the technology, and support the academic staff in engaging with students when there are breakout sessions.
  • Supporting students across the papers.
  • Providing some support for marking.

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative. You enjoy solving problems across a range of education and administration areas.  You have an excellent manner with students, and an enthusiasm for learning and teaching, in a tertiary environment.

As a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder, you also enjoy working autonomously as well as contributing positively to a high performing team. You have effective time and self-management skills, and are able to anticipate and effectively meet deadlines. A growth mind set and the ability to remain calm under pressure are natural qualities.  

Key Requirements:   

  • Graduate in Business Analysis (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of all of the MBusAn (MBUA) courses (ideally an alumni of the programme).
  • A high degree of computer literacy with skills in problem solving associated with the use of technology.
  • Teaching and/or tutoring experience.
  • Excellent client service focus.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, be proactive and flexible. 
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, within a strongly dynamic environment.
