Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Institute of Criminology at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington invites applications for two permanent lecturer posts in Criminology. The successful applicant would ideally commence work in January 2022. These appointments are on the university’s usual academic pathway, so the workload includes teaching, research and administration.
The Institute aims to appoint a dynamic educator who complements the current staff’s expertise and our excellent teaching and research profile. The Institute holds a commitment to equity and diversity, and specifically to teaching and research that engages mātauranga Māori and is consistent with the Treaty of Waitangi.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
The successful candidate will have or be near completion of a PhD in Criminology or a related field, and will have experience in teaching across various undergraduate levels. Capacity to teach and supervise postgraduates will also be required, as well as a demonstrated commitment to research and publication. We are particularly interested in candidates with a specialism in sex, gender and crime (one post) and prisons, punishment and justice alternatives/futures (the other post).
